| The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is a federal tax incentive program to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes. The SR&ED program is the largest single source of federal government support for industrial research and development and is particularly well suited for technology companies who qualify for the credit though software design, analysis, data collection, research, technical support, internal technical documentation and more.
Also available to Ontario Technology businesses is the Ontario New Technology Tax Incentive (ONTTI). The ONTTI allows taxpayers a 100% immediate write-off of the eligible cost of qualifying intellectual properties acquired in the course of an intellectual property transfer.
LFSC can assist clients with claim preparation to ensure that all relevant information is gathered and associated accurately with qualifying projects.
Currently, the SR&ED claims can take between 9 and 18 months for processing, during which time clients could make valuable use of this capital. LFSC finances SR&ED claims at the time of filing at very attractive rates making our SR&ED program very popular.
